Ghana Winning Medal @ Tokyo Olympics A Remarkable Achievement- NPP Secretary
The Deputy General Secretary for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Obiri Boahen has congratulated Ghanaian boxer, Samuel Takyi for winning a medal for Ghana in the Tokyo Olympics.
According to him, it is a remarkable achievement for Ghana to get a medal after twenty-nine years of waiting.
But Speaking on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show on Monday, the private Legal Practitioner questioned that, he cannot fathom the performance of Africans in the Olympic games.
“We cannot reach far in most of the competitions. We have water bodies in our countries but we perform poorly in swimming,” he said.
However, Lawyer Obiri Boahen indicated that, it was overwhelming for South-African woman to break an 8-year-old world record to win the women’s 200-meter breaststroke.
