Ghana U-20 Coach Karim Zito Ready For WAFU Championship Opener Against Nigeria

Black Satellites coach Karim Zito has reiterated his team’s readiness for the WAFU U-20 Championship opener against Nigeria on Wednesday.

The Ghana U-20 team had to wait till Wednesday to open their campaign with a showdown against Nigeria, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Ivory Coast on Monday.

Group B is made up of three teams with the top two sides progressing to the semis, where they stand a chance to pick one of the tickets for the Africa Youth championship in Mauritania next year.

Zito and his team watched Nigeria’s game against Ivory, and he insists they will map a strategy for the Super Falcons.

“Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire are not countries that we will look down upon,” Coach Karim Zito told footballmadeinghana.com. “We are going to watch them play, myself and all the players we will sit in one place and after the match, we’ll come together to discuss what we saw, what we feel we should do,” he continued.

“At the end of the day we will watch their weaknesses, and their strategy and where they start their build-up from…both teams [Nigeria and Cote D’Ivoire]. I will divide the team into two, some will watch Nigeria and the other will watch Cote D’Ivoire and I will watch both. And then we will put our heads together and strategize for our match against Nigeria,” he concluded.
