Ghana Takes Delivery Of 177,600 Johnson & Johnson Vaccines

Ghana has taken delivery of 177,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines to vaccinate people who are yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine is the first batch of the African Union’s African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) initiative delivered to Ghana.

Speaking on ‘The Privilege’ on Wontumi Radio/TV, the Programmes Manager of the Extended Programme on Immunization, Dr. Kwame Amponsah Achiano said, the vaccine is one dose vaccine.

He indicated that, it would be given to few hotspot areas.

“The aged, people suffering from chronic disease and the vulnerable will receive the jab,” he noted.

According to Dr. Achiano the Health Ministry will deploy the vaccine by Wednesday.
