Ghana Is Still Leading The Way In COVID Management- EU
The head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, has commended Ghana for its exemplary leadership in management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Talking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on Accra-based FM on Friday (18 March), the EU envoy in Ghana said the bloc has so far given Ghana the equivalent of US$85 million in grants to help fight the disease.
“Culture is what brings us all together as a people and continent. The EU supports the idea that Ghana is a cultural hub for West Africa and Africa has a stimulus package to help in dealing with the pandemic.
“The way Ghana managed the COVID [pandemic] is really commendable … when you compare the lives lost in Ghana to the rest of Africa and the world, then you’ll see how well Ghana did,” Razaaly said.
“We have financed a significant amount of money to Ghana in the last eight months with about US$85 million grants given to Ghana as a stimulus package to help post-COVID,” he said.
