Ghana Digital Centres Limited and Indian outfit Mudunuru Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance and transform digital solutions towards Ghana’s economy.
The MOU is said to undertake initiatives in Ghana Digital Centres Limited to close the digital skills gap.
Mr. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, CEO for Ghana Digital Centres Limited reisterated that all efforts are being made for Ghana to catch up with the digital world.
He further stressed that, his outfit in collaboration with the indian firm will help in providing the most comprehensive and high-quality technical assistance, partnership, and support in establishing Digital \ Virtual Schools co-located at GDCs offering Technical Skills Development and Capacity Building Programs to enable students and working professionals get better placements and contribute to the national economy.
“On a daily basis, the world of technology is changing and Ghana as a country cannot continue doing things on a slow pace so we have decided to speed up matters of digital skills for our students in order to meet the growing demand globally,”Mr. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang told the media after the program.
According to him, Ghana must build an eco-system for empowering startups to scale faster by creating a strong network of stakeholders and prospective customers with robust go-to-market strategies in terms of digitalization.
He opined that, the global partnerships and alliances will enhance in improving institutions in the country.
Mr. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang disclosed that the MOU will expand the network of Ghana Digital Centers Limited to other parts of Ghana at Regional and Sub-Regional level to enable students and working professionals from all over the country to gain access to the facilities and programs thus will establish a joint compendium of relevant capacity-building and training programs to be made available for funding organizations in Ghana, India and other Multi-lateral organisations.
Under this shared vision, every citizen, notably women and young people are targeted to have the opportunity to participate in the digital world.
He said the partnership aims at harnessing the power of technology to transform the economy and ensure that everyone enjoys the benefits associated with digitalisation, and no one is left behind.
