Free SHS,The Biggest Social Intervention Programme In Africa- Popular KSTU Lecturer
A popular lecturer at the Kumasi Technical University (KSTU), Mr. Ishaq Kyei- Brobbey is says the free SHS programme is the biggest social intervention policy to be ever introduced in the African continent.
He added that, it is the best social intervention policy Ghana has ever acquired whether pre-colonial or post- colonial periods.
Mr. Kyei -Brobbey who appeared on the Privilege Morning Show on Wontumi Radio/TV further said that, he cannot fathom intervention policy that would be bigger than the free SHS programme.
He revealed that, before the introduction of the policy, about 30% of students in the Southern sector and 15% of students in the Northern sector were not able to further their education after completing Junior High School.
The KSTU lecturer emphasized that Ghanaians have witnessed the benefit of the policy which President Akufo-Addo introduced within eight months in his first term.
The Tescon Patron, insisted that, “the NPP members must own the free SHS 110% because they implemented it.”
He said, NPP members must embrace anybody who will laud or criticize the policy.
According to Mr. Kyei Brobbey, the programme will continue to have challenges and would be resolved.
