Free SHS The Most Social Intervention Policy Introduced Since Independence- Veep
Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has affirmed that, the free Senior High School policy which was introduced by Nana Akufo-Addo is the most social intervention policy since Independence.
He said that, the free Senior High School policy will transform the country in the next decade.
Dr. Bawumia who was addressing the Effiduase SHS students during a commissioning of a 12- unit classroom block in the school noted that, 1.2 million students have benefited from the policy.
He indicated that, government has abolished the exam fees which was paid by the final year students in previous years.
“Nana Akufo-Addo’s government has made education a corner stone of our national agenda.” He emphasized
“Nana Akufo-Addo doesn’t want you to complete the SHS and end it there. He wants you to continue to the tertiary level by giving you loan.
Mrs. Peace Owusu Bediako, Headmistress of the school commended the government for the enormous contribution in Ghana education and Effisco at large.
“We are satisfied with what we have but I’m appealing to the government to construct another 12 unit classroom block to curb the double track system.” Madam Owusu Bediako said.
According to her, former President John Kufour started road project in the school but couldn’t complete it and left power, ” so I’m appealing to you to fix it for us.”
