The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North Constituency, Hon. Collins Adomako-Mensah has shockingly stated that his party- the New Patriotic Party (NPP), knew its presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, two years ago.
“It was two years ago that we knew our presidential candidate”, Hon. Collins Adomako-Mensah said on Wontumi TV when he was asked by the host about his opinion concerning the party’s November 4th presidential elections.
According to him, even their main political opponent, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) knew they had settled on a particular candidate two (2) years ago.
“It is for this reason the NDC were strategic and started attacking one particular candidate”, he said as it became evident he was talking about vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, the Presidential Elections Committee of the NPP had productive interactive session with the four contestants for the party’s presidential primaries slated for Saturday, November 4, 2023.
After collaborating with officials from the Electoral Commission of Ghana for balloting, Ken Ohene Agyapong won the first place as contestant.
Mahamudu Bawumia, came second and was followed by Owusu Afriyie Akoto. The last on the ballot was Francis Addai-Nimoh.
