Ethics Committee Invite Coach Sarpong, Others

An investigation into the alleged manipulation of a football game involving Unity FC and Wa Suntaa, in the Division One League (DOL) is expected to continue on Thursday.

The Ethics Committee of the local football governing body which commenced the investigation between president of Unity FC, Richmond Osei and referee Daniel Kwame Nsiah in March is expected to continue with their fact finding processes on Thursday.

The investigation was occasioned after the Integrity Officer of the GFA had presented a report on match manipulation during the week eight fixture between the two clubs.

Apart from the two individuals, Forster Bastious and Kingsley Asare who were referee and assistant referee on the day have also been invited to aid in the investigation.

On the same day, Coach J.E Sarpong and Coach Ntow Gyan are also expected to appear before the committee to answer questions on various comments they allegedly made that breach Article 11(2)(a), (b) and (d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019).

Although it is said that both coaches have rendered an apology and withdrawn their comments in their respective statement of defence, the committee has still invited them to appear before it.

Also to be adjudicated would be that of an alleged comment made by president of Berekum Arsenals, Yakubu Moro, which is deemed to be in breach of Article 11(2)(a), (b) and (d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019) and Article 22(2) & (3) of the GFA Code of Ethics (2019).
