EPA Tours Ashanti Region To Inspect Water-Bodies
Chief Executive of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Hon. Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, says his outfit is on working visit to inspect the water bodies in the Ashanti Region.
He indicated that, he will pay a courtesy call to the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to seek his permission.
According to Hon. Dr. Kokofu who was speaking in an interview on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show on Tuesday, the Agency will meet the small scale miners, producers of agrochemicals, industrial chemicals, hotel operators etc. and have interactions with them.
“We want to know if they are satisfied with our collaboration or want us to improve some areas,” he said.
According to Hon. Dr. Kokofu, the EPA will educate the public on galamsey and building of houses along water ways which has been the plight of a section of the public.
Meanwhile, he revealed that there has been a new rebranding of the Environmental Protection Agency.
He therefore said, the outfit is ready for advice and directions from the general public.
“We have offices in the Districts of the various Regions so you can go there and lodge your complaint,” he said.
Hon. Dr. Kokofu the EPA will continue to educate the public about environmental protection.
