Ellembelle Placed On The Path Of Total Development With Re-construction Of Some Poor Roads – DCE
The DCE for Ellembele, Hon Kwasi Bonzoh, has noted that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, recognizes the great achievements of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and will honour him with a massive improvement of the poor road network in the area,
Nkrumah hailed from Nkroful in the Ellembele District but it is currently one of the least developed areas of the country with low road infrastructure even though, it is rich in agricultural products especial ly cocoa, and minerals.
Hon Bonzo who was speaking on Wontumi TV/Radio in Kumasi on Thursday, said the District is now witnessing a massive change in its circumstance due to the rapid development initiatives being implemented by the NPP government to gradually transform the District, especially in the road sector.
According to the DCE, the poor roads challenge should be blamed on the NDC’s lack of focus. The NDC has had the opportunity to rule the country more than any other political party in the country.
“ What is more painful is that for eight consecutive years in the Professor Mills/John Mahiama era prior to when the NPP took over the administration of the country in 2017, not a single kilometer road was constructed to thank the people of Ellembelle for being so faithful to the NDC.
“As I speak to you, the NPP government, under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo , has awarded on contract , the construction of a total of 245 kilometer stretch of roads some of which have already started.
“We are working in collaboration with the central government and the GNPC to develop the roads to open up the Ellembelle District.”
According to him, the MP for the area, Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who has been an MP continuously for 12 years always lies to the people to win their votes but they have had nothing in return.
According him before seeking the mandate of the people, Hon Kofi -Buah “lied” to the people that he had met Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah in his dream who told him that he was sending him on a mission to go and develop Ellembelle but he has been a great disappointment to his people because there is “no truth in his claim.”
“What is irritating is that the MP has been going round boasting that the ongoing road reconstruction projects had been initiated by him but the people have found all such claims to be a hoax.” Hon Bonzo said.
The DCE emphasized that, “what Hon. Kofi-Buah has been able to achieve is the “partial reconstruction” of some of the key roads which are cut off from the rest of the country anytime there is a heavy downpour. Sometimes it is not even possible to travel to some of the communities even on motor bikes.”
He however, vowed that ,“for this year, Hon Kofi-Buah is not going to succeed to deceive the people because the NPP is prepared to snatch the seat fro him. We have provided several infrastructural facilities to prove to the people that our government is a caring government with a difference.”
Hion Bonzo noted that his vision is, “to make Ellembelle the most developed District in the whole of the Western Region.”
“My priority therefore is to embark on a massive transformation programme which touches on all sectors of the economy.”
He said the residents of an area regarded as a strong hold of the NDC have often be misled through propaganda stunts that their development has been given a priority but for years they were starved of development until the NPP took over the administration of the country almost four years ago.
“But now they are fully awake and alive to their senses and will definitely vote for the NPP because of the difference they have seen in governance is that development has been brought to their door steps. They are indeed fed up with the NDC.” Hon Bonzo noted.
According to him, prominent among the roads being constructed is the famous Aiyinase-Nyamebekyere-Mangoase Road. Elembelle-North Forest Road, Nyamebekyere Akropong Road, Asasetre –Nyamebekyere Road and Esiama Nkroful Road and Teleku-Bopkazo-Anwia Junction Roads are also being fixed.
The inner township roads under construction include Asasetre, Akropong and Attabadu. He said.
Hon Bonzo added that some major road projects also being executed include the provision of culverts along the Bilinzi-Aiyinase, Asasetre and the Bilenzi Aiyinase and Kikam roads..
