Election 2020: Parliamentary Aspirants Going Independent Are Against Akufo-Addo – Kusi Boafo

Chief Executive Officer of Public Sector Reforms, Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, has strongly criticized all NPP Parliamentary aspirants who have decided to go independent saying with their behaviour “they are acting against the larger interest of the ruling party.”
“The actions of all such party members who have decided to go independent for whatever reasons should admit that they are against President Akufo-Addo and want the downfall of the NPP.” He charged.

According to Mr Kusi Boafo, if one is truly an NPP member nothing will make that person think of satisfying his selfish interest as against the collective interest of the party. It is therefore wrong to contest a parliamentary seat independently while there is the accredited party’s candidate because it amounts to destabilizing the party.”

He continued, “It is unethical to claim you love Akufo-Addo, yet you don’t go by the party’s rules.” He told Oheneba Nana Asiedu when he appeared on Wontumi Radio and TV’s Morning Show programme on Tuesday

According to the famed accountant, the elephant Nana Akufo-Addo is literally riding as the leader of the NPP as he embarks on his campaign tours is the same elephant that is leading the way for all NPP Parliamentary candidates to victory. The party knows no other elephant except the one being jockeyed by the flag bearer.”.

Mr. Kusi Boafo said that, there are consequences for one to contest independently so those who jjare pursuing their parochial interest must take note.

According to him if one contests independently, it means he wants to commit political suicide.

He noted that, those contesting independently have nothing better to offer the country adding that assuming they win their seats they may not be that lucky to get an appointment as a reward for their efforts which did not benefit the party anyway. .

“Most of those contesting the parliamentary seats are very young. When you exercise restraint, your time will come. Support your MP and one day he will baptize you introduce you to the constituents that you are his next of kiln.” Mr. Kusi Boafo said

He affirmed that, legislators don’t fix roads rather its those who directly superintend over government policies and programmes.

“Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu claims that he is fixing roads is not true. It’s the government led by Nana Akufo-Addo who is using taxpayers money to fix Ashanti Region roads.” He noted
