ELECTION 2020: Ashanti Gave NPP the 2020 Victory, Hon Minister Emphasizes

The Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah has in a spontaneous reaction to the victory by the NPP’s Presidential candidate in the 2020 election, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo emphasized that voters in Ashanti gave the NPP’s its deserving victory.

“If you add up the total number of votes in Ashanti it becomes obvious that we gave victory to Ashanti;” Hon Osei Mensah made the remarks in the studios of Wontumi TV and Radio when he made a quick dash to join in the euphoria and wide celebration Asokwa.

According to Hon Osei Mensah, the same thing happened in the 2016 elections when voters in Ashanti carried the day for the NPP, thus proving a point that, “ without dispute Ashanti is the blood and heart of the ruling party.”

He said the huge voter population and strategic position Ashanti occupies has positioned it as the muscle of the elephant party.

It provides all the recipe needed to win elections and this poses a task on the government to double its efforts in developing the Region.

“The milking cow must be fed and fed well.” He stressed.

He expressed the hope that the Region’s fair share of the national cake would be provided this time around.

He however, gave an indication that the party will have to work harder towards victory in 2024.

Hon Osei Mensah expressed gratitude to the members of the security services for maintaining the peace in the Region during the elections.

They did their very best to maintain law and order and I commend them.

“Not a single incident was recorded in any part of the Region throughout the election period and this gives me joy because since 1992 we have not had it so peaceful in Ashanti during elections. “ He said.
