The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has appealed to delegates to elect officers who can win the party political power in 2024.
The NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi made this appeal during the party’s annual delegate conference which was held at Ejusi last Wednesday.
In his view, delegates must assess officers who want to be voted into various positions and elect candidates who can win their next flagbearer the 2024 elections.
“In 2024, I will plead with you that when the party opens the door for us to elect our executives, we should look out for people who can win us power. If we don’t do that the exercise would be in vain”, Chairman Wontumi passionately appealed.

In his view, the party must focus on sustaining power after President Akufo-Addo has finished serving his 8year tenure.
“We must focus on maintaining power. We were in opposition and came to win power at a time the NDC was bragging they will get 1 million votes in Ashanti region. But we rather beat them by 1 million votes in 2016 and in 2020, we beat them again by over 1 million votes. This means that we can do all things in Ashanti region”, Chairman Wontumi said.
On Wednesday, 27th October, 2021, the Ashanti Regional chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held its annual delegates conference.
The event is under the theme: Joining Forces to Maintain Power and would take place at the Forestry Commission Training School Park at Achiaakrom within Ejisu.
