Ejisu Dadientem Gets New Well-Equipped Hospital

A multi million new hospital equipped with some of the most modern equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of health complications has been commissioned at Ejiisu Adadentem in Ashanti.

The plush facility bears the name, Riva Swiss Hospital and was established through the benevolence of a Ghanaian resident in the West European country of Switzerland, Mrs Victoria Rickenbach. She is working in partnership with a Swiss national, Andrea Frick, from the University Hospital of Zurich.

Speaking at the commissioning, Mrs Rickenbach said she drew inspiration from President Akufo-Addo’s initiative of providing a well-furnished health facility for each of the deprived Districts in the country.

“Health is wealth and I consider the President’s decision to improve the country’s health care delivery as very laudable and therefore decided to complement his efforts.” She said.
According to Mrs, Rickenbach, his partnership with the Andrea Rick has been very beneficial because it was through his singular efforts that the high-tech equipment installed at the hospital were secured.

Dr Baffour Awuah, a former Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS,) who stood in for the DeputyMinister of Health Hon Oko Boye was highly appreciative of the establishment of the hospital in the Ejisu area and called on residents to take health care issues seriously.

“Don’t fall sick before you go to hospital and this requires that one undergoes regular check-ups ‘

According to him the government has invested huge sums of money in the NHIS to ensure Ghanaians stay healthy and urged member of the public to access the facility.

Deputy Minister of Trade, Hon Robert Ahomka-Lindsay commended Mrs Rickenbach and her team for the huge investment made and was happy to acknowledge that the NPP government’s good policies on health have led to the establishment of the Hospital.

”I greatly commend you for your patriotism and the opportunity granted your people to benefit from the wealth you have acquired abroad. “He noted.”

He continued,“The benefits of the investment made can also be looked at within the context of job creation because if anything at all, the facility has provided employment avenues for some residents which will go a long way to help the government to address the mounting unemployment problem in the country.”

Hon Ahomka- Lindsay called on other Ghanaians living abroad who ma y also have the resources to establish businesses in the country to help the government in its efforts to create more jobs for the unemployed youth.

The CEO for the new hospital, Dr. Michael Afriyie Amfo, who said he cannot stand the sight of women going through pains associated with pregnancy-related complications, assured residents in the area that the hi-tech equipment installed is capable of dealing with most of those challenges

“Our medical team is apt and capable of handling all cases so those with health concerns should approach the hospital and benefit from the expertise of its skilled staff.”
