Ejisu by-election: If it is development, then Ejisu will go for NPP, not an independent candidate – Lawyer Kwabena Boateng

The parliamentary candidate for Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti region, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, is optimistic about his win in the upcoming by-election.

According to him, the expedition of development in the Constituency will can only happen if he is elected as the member of Parliament for Ejisu.

Delegates for the New Patriotic Party on Saturday, April, 13, elected Lawyer Kwabena Boateng as the parliamentary candidate for Ejisu following the demise of John Ampontuah Kumah.

The Electoral Commission has however slated April, 30 for the by-election.

Meanwhile, former member of Parliament for the constituency, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi has declared his intention to contest the seat as an independent candidate.

Speaking in an interview on Wontumi TV, on 17th April, 2024, Lawyer Boateng echoed the need for the constituents, to elect a candidate from the New Patriotic Party to enhance development.

He also remarked that, development will cease if an independent candidate is elected.

“Former MP has served for 12 years and in these years, it is the government that funded all the developmental projects. Development comes from a ruling party, that is the reason he could not continue when he left office.

If Ejisu needs development, they should choose a candidate from the incumbent government not an independent one. Where will an independent candidate mobile resources to facilitate development” ? He quizzed.
