Educational Transformation: We Have A Lot To Do But There’s An Improvement -Kwasi Kwarteng

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng, says much is expected to transform Ghana’s educational system but the Adutwum led administration has achieved many positives than before.

This follows an announcement by the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, that his sector has rolled out a new set of uniforms for basic school students as part of an initiative to rebrand public education.

Again, the Ministry is expected to repaint some schools from their current brown and yellow hues to a vibrant blue and white palette.

Speaking on the Wontumi Morning Show, Kwasi Kwarteng emphasised, “we have a lot do but it’s clear that we have moved from where we are. The ministry of education under the watch of Dr. Adutwum has invested in Ghana’s education”.

He highlighted on enrollment of students into the various secondary schools and the outcome of WASSCE results indicating that, “there has been significant improvement as compared to previous years in terms of the accumulative effect of digitalization that has been the aggressive intervention in the areas of smart schools, one student one tablet, one teacher one laptop, teachers welfare, the introduction of continuous professional development and many others including allowances”.

The ministry has been working beyond the challenges under Dr. Osei Adutwum, he added.

Mr Kwarteng added that “contrary to the reports, the Ministry of Education isn’t changing uniforms for all public schools. Neither is the Ministry repainting existing ones.”
