Education Sector: NAPO’s Successes Dwarf Naana Opoku Agyemang’s Failures – Kumawu DCE

The Kumawu District Chief Executive (DCE), Samuel Addai Agyekum, has praised the achievements of Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), the former Education Minister under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. According to the DCE, NAPO’s successes in the education sector far surpass the failures of his predecessor, Naana Opoku Agyemang, who served under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

In an exclussive on Wontumi Tv’s “Talk Ghana Show”, the DCE highlighted NAPO’s accomplishments, including the expansion of educational infrastructure, improvement in academic performance, and innovative programs such as the free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

He contrasted these achievements with the alleged failures of Naana Opoku Agyemang’s tenure, citing issues like poor management of resources, neglect of educational infrastructure, poor condition of services and declining academic standards.

The DCE’s statement underscored the ongoing debate about Ghana’s education sector and the legacies of past leaders. As the political landscape continued to evolve, one thing was clear: the impact of NAPO’s and Naana Opoku Agyemang’s tenures on Ghana’s education system remained a topic of intense discussion and debate.

Samuel Addai Agyekum, sparked a fiery debate when he declared that Naana Opoku Agyemang, the former Education Minister under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, was the worst Education Minister in Ghana’s history.
