The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Madam Patricia Appiagyei has been honoured by the Asokwa Education Directorate for being a champion of education.
Presenting a citation in her honour on Monday morning, the Asokwa Municipal Director of Education, Reverend Ebenezer Oteng Marfo described the female legislator as a passionate leader in Education.
He said the MP had without reluctance supported the Directorate to ensure teaching and learning go on smoothly in the Municipality.
He noted that the MP had at times donated personal funds to ensure the office runs smoothly.

Reading the citation on behalf of the director, a lady representative commended the MP for showing particular interest in the welfare of the Directorate.
The MP, the statement noted, had every year donated books, stationery as well as furniture to schools including deprived ones in the Asokwa Municipality.
The Directorate said the MP had also showed a personal interest in the welfare of pupils’ schools in Asokwa by personally donating school uniforms and teaching aids to the pupils and students in Asokwa.
The Directorate said the MP had relentlessly checked on the performance of the Directorate as well as schools in Asokwa and had encouraged them to do more to make Asokwa a shining example in education.

Madam Appiagyei receiving the citation thanked the Directorate for the honour.
She noted that she was stunned by the thoughts and words on the citation.
The MP said all she had done was a modest contribution to education in the Municipality.
“I am surprised by this honour but I am humbled by the show of appreciation to my modest contribution to education in the Municipality and I pledge to continue to do my best to ensure Asokwa remains the leading light in terms of education in Ghana”, the MP intimated.
