The Ashanti regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah has rated Vice President Bawumia as a deep thinker who always exposes the ignorance his political opponents whenever he speaks.
The Regional Minister in an interview on Wontumi stated that the Vice President was right to state that soon, the acquisition of Ghana cards would be used as passports.
He was therefore surprised opposition elements; mainly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are up and exhibiting their ignorance over the matter.

Delivering a speech at a public lecture themed “Transforming an economy through digitalization: The Ghana story,” held at the Ashesi University on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Dr. Bawumia stated that by the first quarter of next year, the Ghana-card would be used as an e-passport.
But the NDC claims it is not an achievable feat and this compelled Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah to school them on the issue.
“I have been deputy Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament for about 4 years…On the Ghana card there is a place indicated as ECOWAS identity card… You can use the card as passport to travel to other countries and I don’t believe what Bawumia said meant you can use it to travel to every country. This can easily be verified from other ECOWAS countries”, the minister argued.
