Lawyer Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu has officially picked his nomination forms to contest for the position of Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking to the press after the team picked the forms, Dr. Kokofu’s Campaign Coordinator, Kofi Agyei, popularly known as “Away Bus,” said the aspirant was entering the race with new energy, transformation, strategy, and experience to make the party more attractive in the region and, ultimately, to help elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President.
He highlighted Dr. Kokofu’s journey through the party’s ranks from polling station executive, to assemblyman, to Bantama Constituency Chairman, and later Member of Parliament as experience that makes him well qualified for the regional chairmanship.
Agyei added that the party needs a leader with charisma, courage, and discipline someone loved and respected both within and outside the party, and who commands respect and unity.
Mr. Agyei further stressed that Dr. Kokofu’s leadership will strengthen party unity, enhance grassroots mobilisation, and make the NPP more attractive to the electorate ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He expressed confidence that under Dr. Kokofu’s leadership, the party would remain united and well positioned to secure victory in the 2028 elections while supporting the NPP’s broader objective of returning to power.
