Don’t Use COVID-19 Hardships To Judge Akufo-Addo’s Gov’t – Dr. Stephen Amoah
The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah has stated that despite the hardships created by the worldwide COVID-19, President Akufo-Addo has stuck to his promises of good governance to make life comfortable for Ghanaians.
According to him, it would be bad to use the current situation to judge the Akufo Addo government since he has done everything to bring back the economy on track.
Speaking on Akoma FM with Eduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin Tuesday morning, the astute Economist urged Ghanaians to have patience for Nana Addo who will not renege in his good intentions for the country.
“It’s too early to judge the governance of President Akufo-Addo in the midst of coronavirus. The coronavirus is still roaring and Nana Addo is on course,’ he stressed.
Dr. Amoah was emphatic that per the constitutional mandate, President Akufo-Addo has just entered his second term and it would be wrong to judge him half way of his administration.
The Nhyiaeso Legislator was convinced that the numerous social interventions put in place by the Nana Addo led government has rescued Ghanaians from the unnecessary hardships created and left unattended to by the previous NDC government.
“Let me emphasize that the 4 years of the Akufo-Addo government is much better than the whole 8 year reign of the Mahama administration,” he noted.
Dr. Amoah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to build a resilient and robust economy that will impact positively on the lives of the people.
In view of this, he stressed that the government would make sure to restore the macro- economic stability and focus on its social intervention programmes.
