“Don’t Fix Our Plights Only On Election Period”- Drivers Association Cautions Politicians
The Drivers Association of Kronom- Kwapra, a suburb of Kumasi has issued a stern warning to politicians not only fix their roads on election season.
According to them, during elections the politicians will visit every town to solve their plights and make big promises to capture political power but would be nowhere to be found after the election.
The Vice Chairman of the Kronom-Kwapra GPRTU, Kofi Tuffour, who spoke exclusively with Wontumionline.com lamented that,”during election campaign periods, the politicians drive luxury cars and they feel comfortable when the tyres bounce in holes.”
He said that, passengers and pregnant women experience waist pains as a result of the poor road networks.
According to him, the drivers last year staged demonstration over a death trap bridge but the problem still exist.
“We are appealing to the government to come to our aid.At least government should grade the deplorable roads every three months,” he said.
The drivers further made a passionate appeal to Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu and Hon Owuraku Aidoo through Chairman Wontumi for a redress.
