Abeiku last week received a lot of bashing after incurring the wrath of Mzbel by calling her a “former artiste”.
During an interview with a new artiste called Chief One, Abeiku asked which artiste he would love to collaborate with.
Chief One went on to mention Mzbel. A shocked Abeiku Santana responded saying, “Huh, Mzbel! Former artiste Mzbel. She is a former artiste.”
However, Mzbel didn’t find the statement amusing. She took on Abeiku, describing him as one of the people who have been sabotaging her career for a very long time. Abeiku, in a subsequent post, apologised to Mzbel for the description.
But Diamond Appiah in a post on her Instagram story indicated that Mzbel shouldn’t be offended because saying she is a former artiste is not an insult.
She wrote, “In fact Ghanaians are hypocrites… when granny former artiste was doing stupid songs in an attempt to ridicule people nobody had common sense to advise her to stay in her chop bar lane and continue to sell her Banku and Konkonte in peace & Abeiku just gave her one punchline and she is bleeding over the truth.”
“.:. Are u not a former artiste? When was the last time you released an album or EP?
Like dey do to Samini, ObrafoↃ and the rest, then stop behaving like a hungry desperate …and respect yourself, to do good music is a calling. Those your wack songs time passed ten years ago … so someone calling you a former wack artiste is not an insult. Abeiku was shocked the guy had no vision in music, that’s all, the truth hurts …pains (sic),” she added.
