CPP To Launch Economic Freedom Manifesto Next Week, Says Ashanti Regional Chairman

All is set for the Convention People’s Party (CPP) to launch its manifesto document next week.

This was confirmed by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the CPP, Mr Emmanuel Galo. He was speaking on Wontumi TV and Radio in Kumasi on Tuesday.

He said the CPP manifesto has an objective of granting Ghanaians economic freedom which is different from what has been provided by both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him it will give direction on the right path Ghanaians can tread to free themselves from economic oppression.

“Our goal is to fight for economic freedom for members of the Ghanaian public so that there will be progress in all aspects of their life.” He said.

Commenting on the pending election in December, Mr. Galo called on Ghanaians to refrain from acts that can lead to violence.

“The election is not about violence. It is about what a party can present or do to improve lives.” He explained.

According to him, gone are the days when Ghanaians had to engage in conflicts to express their grievances or opinions.

“This is because our democracy has advanced and Ghanaians understand democracy better. In short we have advanced our political process.”He noted;

He added that, “we have only one Ghana and we have to protect it with the last drop of blood in us to defend our motherland, Ghana.“

Mr. Galo wondered why the former President should engage in personal attacks.
According to him, Ghanaians have a time tested values rooted in their cultural and traditional practices and wondered why former President Mr John Dramani Mahama should show disrespect to the traditional authorities.

“All Ghanaians including the former President have to be decorous in their pronouncements when dealing with our elderly in society particularly, traditional leaders, who are the custodian of our culture.

If you insult Nananom it will extremely be difficult for you to go back to them and ask for their blessings especially in an election era. Politicians should therefore control their remarks when dealing with them”. He noted

Mr. Galo described as too” hasty” a decision by the former President not to accept the outcome of the December election.

“It is hasty and pointless to conclude that you would not accept the election results because no one knows the direction the electoral results will go.” He noted.

However, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the CPP urged the Electoral Commission under Jeane Mensah to conduct its activities in a transparent manner to give no one any justifiable cause to dispute the outcome of the 2020 elections.

My Galo took a swipe at the former president for being over-ambitious in his quest to become the President of the country once again after being defeated in the last elections.

According to him, Mr. Mahama , has made every gain and benefit in politics one can think of and why he still wants to come back to head the country beats his imagination.

“The former President has made every gain one can think of as a politician. After starting his political career as an Assembly man and climaxing it with his occupation of the highest office of the land as the President of the Republic of Ghana there can’t be anything left for him to claim. I’m amazed at his posturing,” He said.
