COVID-19 Fight: We Will Continue To Review Our Travel Restriction Measures- Akufo-Addo
President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo has affirmed that, Ghana would continue to review the travel restriction measures as far as the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 is concerned.
He reiterated that, as captured in the travel directive jointly issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Regional Integration, and the Ghana Health Service that all non-essential trips to countries with high COVID-19 infection rates should either be cancelled or postponed.
Addressing the nation on measures taken to fight the spread of the virus which was monitored by wontumionline.com, President Akufo-Addo indicated that, there will be plenty of time, God-willing for such trips in the future.
He said that, to prevent fake COVID-19 PCR certificate being used to enter the country, government through the Health Ministry has begun the process of digitizing PCR test results to ensure ease of verification.
“All travellers arriving in Ghana must have test results or certificate bearing the trusted travel to be acceptable at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
According to the President, Ghana has re-evaluated quality checks on testing at KIA and are satisfied with the sensitivity and specificity of the testing regime at the Airport.
