COVID-19: 2021 Kwahu Easter Cancelled
Traditional Council and the Ghana Tourist Authority have said there will be no Easter activities at Kwahu this year.
The cancellation is part of efforts to curb the further spread of the deadly COVID-19.
At a meeting at Abene in Kwahu, the traditional council and the Ghana Tourist Board concluded there would be no activities marking the festivity this year due to COVID-19.
Easter in Kwahu is usually characterised by lots of activities, including a paragliding festival, hiking, carnivals among others.
It is also a festival for the chiefs and people of the area and elebrated across all the communities.
Businessowners travel from Accra to Kwahu to take part in the celebration.
This is the second time in a row that the festival has been called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2020, the festival did not come off as the pandemic had just begun.
