Former Lands and Natural Resources minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, has been flagged by members of the Council of State and denied an opportunity to serve as Ghana’s ambassador to China, Kwame Baffoe has revealed.

The Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party disclosed this on the Nsempa Fie show which airs on Wontumi TV every Saturday.

Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye praised the members of Council of State for the bold recommendation they made to President Akufo-Addo noting that Ghana, would have faced water crisis in the future if Asomah-Cheremeh had been rewarded an ambassadorial role to China.

He simply put “galamseyer fighting galamsey, we are doomed…Ghana would face water crisis if he is nominated as an ambassador to China.”

Abronye openly stated that the former minister knew about the activities of the Chinese in Ghana’s forest but was always lying to President Akufo-Addo that everything is fine with the fight against galamsey.

“If a mistake is made and he is taken to China as an ambassador, he will destroy our country. He knew what the Chinese were doing in our forests but he always told the President that everything is okay with the fight against galamsey”, Abronye added.

He therefore praised members of the Council of State for their resilience and added that Ghanaians are proud of the advice that they have given to President Akufo-Addo on Asomah-Cheremeh.
