The paramount chief of Dormaa Traditional area, Nana Agyeman Badu I, has urged the flagbearer for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to ensure transparency in the selection of a running mate ahead 2024 polls.
He opined that, Dr. Bawumia’s electoral fortune will be marred if he focuses on one specific region for his running mate.
He made this known at a meeting with the Bono Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani.
“I know you will soon unveil your running mate. It will not be good, if you select a candidate from one particular region. You will only secure few votes if you decide to do that. If you look beyond one region, people in other regions will cast their votes for you” he stated.
He therefore admonished Dr. Bawumia to consider a Candidate, from the Bono region as a running mate.
“I am however appealing to you to look at the Bono region. We equally have competent ministers who can contest the position. We have great personalities such as, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kwaku Agyemang Manu, Mahama Afful and others, which you can choose from” he stressed.
