Closure Of Boarders Have Caused Economic Hardship – Ayorkor Botchwey

The Minister Designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has revealed that the closure of the country’s boarders in other to curb COVID-19 has created economic hardship for the country and its neighbouring countries.

At the Appointment Committee, the Hon. Member for Bawku Central Mahama Ayariga asked, how soon she can make a case for the opening of the country’s land boarders even if it means covid-19 test can be done first.

Upon answering the question she stated that, the country has an issue with porous boarders and can control the land but it is difficult to control the long stretches along the boarders unmarked.

She stated that, there are a lot of economic activities on either side of the country boarders the closure these activities and a lot of financial constraints.

She indicated that she will quickly resolve it if she is approved.
