Change in dead bodies after morgue preservation is a result of Bleaching, not errors of mortuary attendants – Mortuary workers school Ghanaians

Some mortuary attendants have disclosed the reasons that result in the change of color of corpses and dead bodies after being preserved at the mortuary which always leads to blame on mortuary workers from the family of the deceased for their inability to successfully preserve the dead body of their relative.

During a media visitation to some mortuaries within the Bono region, some of the mortuary workers unanimously spoke to newsmen explaining that the multiple blame from most family members for dead bodies that change color or appearance after being preserved in the morgue is worrying which keeps affecting the smooth running of their operation.

They explained that most reasons for the change in color of these dead bodies are a result of bleaching explaining that the bleached body always turns to its natural complexion after being offered the necessary drugs and injection for preservation hence family members must cease the continuous blame on mortuary attendants for the change in the look of their bodies after preservation at the morgue.

They therefore offered words of advice to the youths to stay away from bleaching because it has adverse effects on the body being alive and after death.

On his part, Mr. Issah Sumila, the Emergency Unit in charge of the Sampa Government Hospital in the Jaman North District of the Bono region stressed that bleaching has a series of negative implications on human health because bleaching pomades are made up of dangerous chemicals that harmfully reacts to the body when applied hence affecting the beauty of the skin.

He therefore charged all and sundry to desist from the application of pomades purposely for bleaching the skin since it has negative impacts on our health.
