Chairman Wontumi Will Continue To Speak English Despite Criticism – Nana Oteatuoso
The Akwanserehene of Akyem Kwabeng, Etwienana Baffour Oteatuoso Kokoben II, has hit back at those criticizing Chairman Wontumi that he is defective in speaking the English language.
Participating in Wontumi Radio and TV Morning Show on Friday he said that, research has shown that, people listen to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP more when he communicates in the English language than in his native language.
Nana Oteatuoso was reacting to some negative comments that emerged after Chairman Wontumi’s appearance on Metro TV’s ‘Good Evening Ghana’ programme.
“Chairman Wontumi is the governor in Ghana politics. He will continue to speak the English everyday.” He affirmed
Nana Oteatuoso indicated that, those mocking the business mogul because of their dissatisfaction with the way he communicates in English cannot compare themselves to the business magnate in terms of his wealth.
“Chairman Wontumi’s accomplishment. The vehicle he drove to the Metro TV compound would have marveled them if they had sighted it.” He said
“His achievements have nothing to do with whether he speaks good or bad English and the true fact is merely speaking good English cannot be the route to riches.” He indicated
According to him, Chairman Wontumi cannot stop speaking English and so long as people have an interest in the way he speaks English, he will continue to deliver. Adding that, after all most Ghanaians are enthused about his public speaking skill.
