The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has managed to politically produce another Kwaku Duah to contest as independent in the upcoming Kumawu by-election.
This revelation was made by Mr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey during a studio discussion on the Wontumi Morning Show.
Providing details on issue, Mr. Kyei-Brobbey commended Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi for hatching the plan noting that it will politically hurt any independent candidate aiming to split the votes of the NPP.
Data from the 2020 parliamentary elections held at Kumawu shows that the late Hon. Basoah polled 14,960 votes for the NPP against Kwaku Duah’s 11,698 as an independent candidate.
However going into the 2023 by-election, Kumawu would have two separate persons with the name Kwaku Duah all contesting as independent candidates.
“From 1100 I see him struggle to make a 1000. But who came up with this plan, when I analizye it, it looks like something Wontumi has cooked. They are all in traditional clothe with the same name Kwaku Duah…They all have the same symbol….you can’t tell me Wontumi isn’t part of this plot”, Mr. Ishaq Kyei-Brobbey said.
