Chairman Wontumi Is Relocating To Assin North After Kumawu By-election- Kwaku Atta Sarpong

Deputy Ashanti Regional Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwaku Atta Sarpong, has revealed that Chairman Wontumi would be turning his full attention on the Assin North parliamentary seat after delivering Kumawu.

Last night I received a call from Chairman Wontumi and he told me that I only have few days to rest- after we are moving to Assin North”,  Kwaku Atta Sarpong said in a telephone interview to Kwaku Dawuro on the Wontumi Morning Show.

Kwaku Atta Sarpong branded the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP an “election winning machine” and applauded him for using a strategy that saw helped the party maintain the Kumawu seat.

Prior to the Kumawu by-election, Chairman Wontumi relocated temporarily to the area to ensure the NPP settles for nothing but victory .

Speaking to Gordon Asare-Bediako via telephone on Movement TV, Chairman Wontumi revealed that “I now stay at Kumawu and as we speak I am with the candidate and Constituency Chairman on our way to church”.

Parliament has been ordered by the Supreme Court to expunge James Gyakye Quayson’s name from its records as a Member of Parliament.

Prior to this, the Supreme Court had restrained James Gyakye Quayson from holding himself as the Member of Parliament for the Assin North constituency in the Central Region.

Mr. Quayson was restrained in a ruling delivered by the Supreme Court on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

This decision was taken in a petition brought before the Supreme Court by Michael Ankomah-Nimfa, a resident of Assin Bereku in the Central Region.

Beleaguered Mr. Quayson, of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC), polled 17,498 against New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Madam Abena Durowaa Mensah who had 14,793 on December 7, 2020 election.
