Chairman Wontumi Charges Black Stars Players To Play With ‘Zeal And Passion’

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has tasked the Black Stars players to serve the national team with zeal and passion.

He said that, the players should play for the nation like they want to achieve something for themselves and leave a legacy behind.

Chairman Wontumi speaking in an interview with King Eben on Wontumi Nationwide Sports on Wontumi Radio/TV, some sports men like D.K Poison and Azumah Nelson who carried the Ghana flag on their shoulders to the highest level received massive accolade from Ghanaians.

He urged the players to emulate the love and the passion D.K Poison and Azumah Nelson used to represent the country in their days.

He emphasized that, President Akufo-Addo has done well by paying the debt the state owed him back on compassionate grounds.

But however, he suggested that, the former boxer is put on pay roll to receive salary for his generous love he showed the country.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, bemoaned bitterly that, for some time past, the actions of the Black Stars players in demand for money put in plane and sent to them before they play for the National team was unpatriotic.

“If you don’t have love you can’t play for the National team,” he said.

“He said that, if you have love, you will definitely get money.” Chairman Wontumi affirmed.
