CEO Of Students Loan Trust Fund Outlines Loan Acquisition Process

The CEO of Student Loan Trust Fund, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah, has noted that massive changes have been introduced in the management of the  Students Loan Trust Fund since he assumed office in 2016.

He said that, in the previous years, students who qualified for the loan  were given a minimum amount of Ghc1000 and maximum amount of Ghc 2000.

Nana Agyei Yeboah in an interview on Wontumi Radio and TV Morning Show on Tuesday indicated that, the minimum amount of the loan has increased to Ghc1500 while  the maximum also been raised to Ghc 3000.

Who Qualifies For The Loan

He indicated that, those who qualify for the loan are students of public tertiary institutions, Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Nursing training schools.

Accessing The Loan

He told Oheneba Nana Asiedu, host the programme that, an applicant first and foremost, has to be a Ghanaian and must be in a University or any of the approved tertiary institutions.

He added that, per the existing rule, the applicant must have a SSNIT registration  number and essentially, a guarantor.

“If your school is accredited and the course you are offering is also approved  you qualify for the loan.

Method Of Payment

Nana Agyei Yeboah indicated that, the loan is paid via E-zwich account and they receive Ghc 200 in a month.

According to him, a test message is sent to the students to remind them that time is due to refund to loan.

Nana Agyei said that, platform has been created for students at Abroad to use it refund their loans
