Celebrities Who Follow John Mahama End Up In The Political Dustbins

For some strange reasons, celebrities who have openly endorsed the candidature of John Mahama have had their careers shortened and ended up being dumped quickly into the political dustbins.

From actors like Mr. Beautiful and John Dumelo, to musicians like Mzbel and Rex Omar who had blistering careers in their early days, the same can’t be said of them after teaming up with John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress.

Elections in Ghana have become a serious business and for the electorate, a deep thinking exercise before allowing the thumb to do the talking on the ballot paper.

The seriousness attached to Ghana’s electoral process as started by President Akufo-Addo’s workable and reasonable policies, has moved away from John Mahama’s approach before the 2016 general elections where he spent a chunk of the nation’s money getting celebrity endorsement.

As empty as the current flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress is when it comes to talking about cogent policies, his choice of celebrities has mirrored the man he is.

It came as no surprise that John Dumelo, an avid supporter of John Mahama has started preaching violence ahead of the 2020 elections.

The NDC’s aspiring candidate for the Ayawaso West Constituency has told his party supporters to beat up members of the New Patriotic Party. For someone with a voice like John Dumelo to make this statement, it tells you that man is already sleeping in a political dustbin provided by his flagbearer.

Even when the state had enough evidence John Dumelo has stolen expensive V8 cars, a finger was not laid on him but rather, to direct him to return the vehicles.

Just like John Dumelo, Rex Omar is also out there preaching violence and not trumpeting the achievements of his flagbearer. In his wisdom, 2020 elections related matters should be solved violently in the streets and not in the courts.

Then comes Mzbel, a controversial figure who has highlighted the unbridled cheating of John Mahama. The uninspiring musician is embroiled in a controversial fight with another actress, Tracey Boakye, who has also declared her support for John Mahama over who gets more attention and freebies from the NDC flagbearer.

Instead of being addressed in dignified way, John Mahama’s entanglement with the two ladies has earned him the moniker, PAPANO.

On the other hand, celebrities who have come out to sing the praises of President Akufo-Addo, are people who have done so using implemented policies and promises by his government to reach out to them.

Just recently, Africa’s decorated rapper Sarkodie, composed a song with Kwami Eugene where he talked about President Nana Akufo-Addo’s ability to implement the free SHS policy and topping it up with the provision of free water and electricity.

Unlike hired NDC celebrities, independent minded and accomplished acts like Sarkodie and Samini have recused themselves from preaching violence and are rather telling the story of President Akufo-Addo the way it is.

For John Mahama, he is a man who has promised to build mortuaries for the Muslim community and stated firmly that he believes the only way Ghana can move forward is to legalize the “Okada’ business.

The Okada policy by John Mahama suffered a huge blow when Stonebwoy disassociated himself from the NDC after the propaganda wing of the party started sharing videos of him riding on an Okada.

Sensing danger, the dancehall act came out to expose the NDC and stated in a strong worded statement that he will not endorse the NDC.

This should be a lesson for celebrities following John Mahama blindly. Politically, he has been floored and made the ground his home. He sings the anthem of he that is down needs fear no fall.

Before you throw your weight behind him remember he has already provided the political dustbin and is ready to house you.
