Stay Focused; Have A Mind-set Of Possibilities – VP Bawumia To Ghanaian Youth

“I want you to know that with God and hardwork, everything is possible. In life there will be challenges and naysayers. Eschew the naysayers and those who want to distract you and wear you down. Ignore those who talk about impossibilities. Focus your minds, and have a mind-set of possibilities. If you put your minds to you it, you can achieve it.” These were the words of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia when he addressed over 500 Ghanaian youth drawn across the country at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region at the opening ceremony of the Ghana Youth Congress,…

Banking Sector Stakeholders Laud Directive On Use Of Ghana Card For Transactions

Stakeholders in Ghana’s banking industry are elated about the Bank of Ghana’s directive to have the Ghana card as the sole ID card to be used for financial transactions. This is because they believe this will check fraud and sanitise the country’s financial system in its entirety. The Bank of Ghana, on Wednesday, served notice to all licensed financial institutions and the general public that effective July 1, 2022, the Ghana Card shall be the only identification card accepted for any form of banking or financial transactions in the country. This development has come as good news to stakeholders in…

Benchmark Value Discounts: Importers & Exporters Unhappy With Delayed Consultations

The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana has expressed its disappointment over what it described as government’s lack of engagement with stakeholders following the suspension of the 50% benchmark value reduction policy. The government on the 13th of January directed the Ghana Revenue Authority to suspend the implementation of the reversal of the benchmark value discounts until further notice. The benchmark value, which is the amount taxable on imports, was reduced by 50 percent for some goods. The import value for cars was also reduced by 30 percent. But as the government pushed its industrialisation drive, critics, like the Association…

There’s a new obstacle to landing a job after college

Here are lives at the intersection of fun and scary. One of my companions summed the whole experience up perfectly. He leaned back in his chair at dinner that night, shrimp taco in hand, “These are the kinds of experiences that give something back to you. They show you who you are in a whole new way.” These eight shots crystallize the hard work moms put into keeping their kids alive, happy, and healthy. They might give you the inspiration you need for filling out that card—or stand-alone for your mom’s interpretation. Power cuts are plaguing Africa with renewable energy

Simply sit, stand or lie in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Take in a deep breath, inhaling slowly and all the way into your belly. Hold your breath for a moment, then exhale slowly. Repeat for however long you like. Short or long, meditation has the power to change your mood, your day, and even your life. If you’ve never tried a short meditation, why not do it today? You might be amazed at what happens. Several people on Twitter and other theatre kid-dominated social media platforms have responded to these offensive, misguided reviews of The Lightning Thief by demanding…
