CAF Congratulates Ghana For Qualifying For Qatar 2022 World Cup

CAF president Dr Patrice Motsepe has congratulated Ghana for sealing qualification to the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar.

Ghana held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday to seal qualification on the away goal rule.

Thomas Partey scored from a long drive to give the Black Stars the lead in the 10th minute before Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong equalized from the spot-kick in the 20th minute.

The draw means Ghana has secured a historic 4th FIFA World Cup tournament having participated in 2006, 2010, and 2014 in Germany.

Ghana joins Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Cameroon for the global showpiece.
