The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has said that no businessman or woman wishes to see the National Democratic Congress (NDC) return to power soon.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that the era of ‘dumsor’ under former President John Mahama has left an indelible mark on the minds of the business communities and for that reason, don’t want to see the NDC in power.
Former President, John Mahama, has bragged that the NDC has what it takes to make business owners smile all the time.
In an address to executives and supporters of the party in the Oti Region, Mr. Mahama stated that the NDC is best known for creating the environment to help businesses boom in Ghana.
“The businessman or woman knows the NDC makes them smile while in government,” he said.
However Chairman Wontumi challenged the former President to revisit his achieve and refresh himself with stories of how the ‘dumsor’ he created destroyed businesses in Ghana.
“The owner of Joy FM is a businessman but I can tell you that he wasn’t happy when John Mahama was President. His radio station had to close down before midnight because he couldn’t afford to run his media house on generators. People in the cold store business lost millions of cedis because their stuff got bad and were rotten. Doctors in some hospitals had to perform surgical operation using phone torchlights and students were unable to study at schools”, he said.
