The founder of Rufftown Records, Ricky Nana Agyemang, widely known as Bullet of the defunct Ruff ‘n’ Smooth music duo has opened up on why the music group was unable to continue with their music-related works as a group.
According to the music producer and record label CEO, the music duo collapsed because they demonstrated an act of ungratefulness towards Bola Ray, the CEO of EIB Network.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo of Accra FM on ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’ segment, Bullet intimated that the music group failed because they disrespected Bola Ray who was then their music producer and manager.
He stated that he had always spoken of the good things Bola Ray has done for him in his life but they disrespected him when it was time for them to part ways with him. He said that they ignored Bola Ray in the discussion to part ways with him.
“I always say that the things Bola Ray has done for me, in my life, my father and no one else has done that for me but at a point in time, we had to move on from him and instead of sitting with him and respectfully informing him that it was time for us to move and ask for his blessing, we did not,” he said.
Bullet also said that Bola Ray had not casted any black magic spell on them after they departed away from him but the principles of Nature and Karma dealt drastically with them since every song they produced afterwards was not making waves.
“From that time, any song we worked on was not successful. Bola did not seek black magic against us, let’s be clear. It was not necessary for him to even do that. Nature and [principles] God has placed on the earth were responsible“, he further noted.
“I once had a dream that I had gone to Bola’s place to plead for forgiveness. And on the day I actually went to see him, the suit I saw him in in the dream was the same one he was wearing. When I went there, I held his leg and said, ‘Boss, I’ve messed up. Forgive me.’ I took my uncle along to say sorry.” he added.
