Breaking The 8: New MMDCEs Hold NPP’s Destiny In 2024 Election- Chairman Kwabena Owusu Sekyere

The race for the appointment of new Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) across the country have become hotter than imagined.

With this, the Ahafo Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwabena Owusu Sekyere who appeared on Wontumi Radio/TV Morning Show on Monday has given his take on the appointment.

According to him, the destiny of the NPP to break the eight years cycle lies within the appointment of the MMDCEs.

“The new MMDCEs will help NPP break the eight that’s why most of we the Regional Chairmen are aggressive in this appointment,” he said.

He emphasized that, if a person is selected as the MCE or DCE, he becomes the eye of the party in the District.

Mr. Kwabena Owusu Sekyere told Oheneba Nana Asiedu that, it’s the responsibility of the MMDCEs to work for the party to be attractive in the vicinity.

“They are also to work to honour the President,” he added.

The NPP Chairman noted that, if the party embarks on a campaign in the area during election and don’t see any achievements by the MMDCEs, there is nothing they can utter to win the hearts of the residents.

“Most of them are at loggerheads with their MPs, Chiefs and constituents. Party leaders have to even intervene to resolve some of the issues between them and the Chiefs,” Mr. Owusu Sekyere bemoaned.
