The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has added his voice to the victory of Lula da Silva- noting that he won because he once served Brazilians with dignity.
He however stated that the comeback of Lula da Silva shouldn’t give former President John Mahama any hope that Ghanaians are yearning for his return since he didn’t serve the nation with any form of dignity.
In an interview with Wontumionline.com, the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the NPP popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, described Lula da Silva as a man who served Brazilians with “dignity, love and progress” and attributed that to his return to power.
He was quick to draw the line and label former President John Dramani Mahama as a man who served Ghanaians with “dumsor and disunity”.
He went further to state that the “criminal” record Mr. Mahama holds hasn’t been forgotten by Ghanaians. He explained that it would be easier for Lula to comeback to power but difficult for Mr. Mahama to achieve that same feat in Ghana.
“Mr. Mahama was a rude man, when we asked for roads in Ashanti region he insulted us and told us we are ingrates and even if he used gold to construct our roads, we won’t appreciate him”, he said.
Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva has been elected the next president of Brazil, in a stunning comeback following a tight run-off race on Sunday. His victory heralds a political about-face for Latin America’s largest country, after four years of Jair Bolsonaro’s far-right administration.
