Be “Intelligent”, Shut Up If You Have Nothing To Say- Mahama Schooled On Akonta Mining

Stop Counting Mansions For Your Girlfriends As Factories- Chairman Wontumi Replies John Mahama

A staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Ralph Osei-Wusu, has called on former President John Mahama to shut his beak and halt the spins he is putting on the issue of Akonta Mining Company Limited.

Tell Mahama to shut up if he has nothing to say”, he said as he sternly warned the former President over some deliberate misrepresentation he put out whilst commenting on the activities of the Ghana owned large scale mining firm.

Mr. Mahama made a post on Facebook that reads : That penchant by the president to absolve his appointees and other close associates of any wrongdoing as he has done with the ongoing investigations into the operations of Akonta Mining Company is a serious dent on the already deteriorating image of the Office of the President.

As though proud of that dishonourable badge, ‘the clearing agent’, Nana Akufo-Addo has yet again justified the appropriateness of his nickname with the seeming presidential exoneration of Akonta Mining, a company owned by a member of his political party (NPP) and accused of illegal gold mining in the country’s forest reserves.

However, Ralph Osei-Wusu responded to his statement on Wontumi TV stating that the approach by the opposition leader were testaments that the party he leads were not offering anything “intelligent” for Ghana to move forward.

We need intelligent comments on how to move the country beyond IMF. When NPP was in opposition, they formed shadow ministries so when policies comes up, they give alternatives. We want to see that from the NDC. They don’t bring alternatives but that is what we expect from an opposition. In 2016, we knew what NPP wanted to do for the country but we don’t see this from Mahama”, he said.

He ended by slamming Mr. John Mahama as the agent who facilitated the spread of galamsey in Ghana.
