After confusing the general public with crocodile tears, ex-President John Dramani Mahama is overly excited receiving a salary increase of 49% under President Akufo-Addo, Hopeson Adorye has shockingly revealed.
The New Patriotic Party’s 2020 parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso, cautioned against the spin some members of the National Democratic Congress are attaching to the demands by teacher for salary increment.
Addressing the issue on Wontumi TV, Hopeson Adorye stated that it was untrue that President Akufo-Addo has increased his salary by 70% noting that the President, can’t do such a thing without the backing of the constitution.
He further stated that President Akufo-Addo takes the same salary as John Mahama and dared the latter to dispute this in public if they were untrue.
Hopeson Adorye also touched on the recommendation by the Ntiamoa-Baidu Committee to pay Presidential spouses monthly salaries.
According to him, when the issue went to parliament, NDC MPs were in support of it because they know it will benefit John Mahama’s wife, Lordina Mahama.
He however wondered their sudden U-turn on the matter when it was made public and painted a picture as if they were not part of that decision making.
