Dr. Gideon Boako is confident that if the New Patriotic Party elects vice President Mahamudu Bawumia as its flagbearer for the 2024 elections, the National Democratic Congress would only have the Volta region to count on as its stronghold.
The spokesperson for vice President Bawumia claimed that his boss has already broken the NDC’s front in the Northern part of Ghana and within Zongo communities and that would heavily affect them again going into the 2024 election.
“We will have a fresh strength at strongholds of the NDC. Their strongholds which used to be Volta, North and Zongos, we have broken the North and the Zongo and they will only have the Volta whilst the NPP maintains our stronghold which is Ashanti and Eastern”, he noted
If Bawumia leads NPP for the 2024 elections, NDC would only have Volta as its stronghold, he asserted on Wontumi TV.
“Look at the population in Greater Accra, if you make that mistake and deepen the notion that NPP as a party doesn’t like the minority tribe and the NDC holds unto that message, and the NPP chooses a candidate who is not Bawumia, what would happen in Greater Accra? The votes in Greater Accra, you will lose it completely. We have a golden opportunity to break the NDC’s message once and for all. The moment you present a qualified candidate like Bawumia it becomes a bonus”, he said.
He maintained that selecting Bawumia as flagbearer, would douse the propaganda by the NDC the NPP is an Akan party
“The NDC can’t stand at the minority and settler communities and say the NPP is an Akan party”, he said.
