The Managing Director of Ghana Publish Company Limited has said unlike John Mahama, Mahamudu Bawumia has served his boss diligently without scandals.
He described the 16 years streak as one that makes it favourable for Bawumia to be considered the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking as a guest on the Wontumi Morning Show which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, David Asante explained that never has Dr. Bawumia, shown disrespect towards Akufo-Addo- the man on whose back his rode to become vice President of Ghana.
“He has served President Akufo-Addo for 16 years. Family, I am an Akan and I understand what it takes to serve. I understand what it is to serve somebody. If somebody has served you for 16 years and he has never been belligerent towards you, you will feel safe handing over to him”, David Asante said.
He continued that “this is someone who has diligently served you for 16 years and you never have a bad story to tell about him. You will tell him to sit down, and he obeys; you tell him to hold something for you and you return to see it intact- such a diligent character”.
Good vrs bad servant
In profiling former President John Mahama, David Asante sadly said he doesn’t have a good record under his former boss- the late former President John Evans Atta Mills.
He explained that Mr. Mahama spent most of time cooking shady deals under his late boss.
Mr. Asante listed the purchase of the Airbus aircraft which attracted intentional attention due to the corruption attached to it as a clear example of things which make Mr. Mahama a servant who didn’t serve his boss diligently.
“Ghanaians will profile the two and look at their individual integrity. The other one was in power and short-changed the state with the purchase of an aircraft. Even money for the rearing of guinea fowls, he couldn’t account for it. Even your appointees were buying houses in Dubai when Ghanaians were suffering”, he said.
He maintained that Bawumia has served Akufo-Addo diligently for 16 years and deserves praise.
