A lecturer with Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey has gushed over a portrait of Vice President Dr. Bawumia and Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and claimed that the two, look like candidates the New Patriotic Party would be presenting in the future.
Reacting to the portrait which was displayed on the Wontumi Morning Show, Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey simply stated that “it looks like a 2024 presidential ticket… it would be nice if this comes to pass.”
Speaking on the positives Vice President Bawumia has showered on the NPP, Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey explained that for the first time, the party won a seat at Mion and Karaga in the 2020 election.
He added that the Bawumia factor has broken the dominance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern part of Ghana.
“Out of the 18 constituency in the Northern region we (NPP) took 9 and gave the NDC 9. We have broken their dominance there”, he said.
Dr. Ishaq Kyei Brobbey further noted that in the North eastern part of Ghana, the NPP won four constituency, leaving the NDC with only 2.
“At John Mahama’s home region which is Savannah, the NPP won 3 constituency and the NDC got 4 but their regional capital is in our hands” adding that “the NPP has beaten NDC in the Northern region due to the Bawumia factor.”
On the above note, he advised the NPP not to make a mistake of replacing Vice President Bawumia with another candidate for the 2024 Presidential election.
He emphatically stated that the NDC is scared of Dr. Bawumia leading the NPP.
