Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has been described as a smart politician by the Ashanti regional Minister. According to him, Bawumia capitalized on the window of opportunity given to by President Akufo-Addo to market his brand.
Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah dispelled claims that out of all the candidates vying for the flagbearer slot of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bawumia is being pushed by the “establishment”.
He re-echoed that vice President Bawumia not a candidate for the establishment but is a product of someone who has groomed himself to become the best.
“The vice president marketed himself not the party. We gave him the opportunity to serve and he grabbed it to market himself since 2009. When he speaks the NDC run away and confused”, he said.
Speaking in a one-on-one interview on the Wontumi Morning Show, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah credited vice President Bawumia for seizing every opportunity President Akufo-Addo gave him since 2009 to sell his brand and get the public to buy into it.
“Nana Addo gave him the opportunity and he used it to market himself and people have bought into it and it peaked during the election petition and he maintained the momentum”, he said.
