Bantama Leather Workers Receive Working Tools From NPP Parliamentary Candidate To Boost Their Business
The New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye, has presented boxes of bench grinders, pliers, hammers and pair of scissors to a group of leather workers, prominent among them being foot wear manufacturers in the Bantama area.
The gesture formed part of Mr. Asenso’s personal initiative to resource the leather workers by making them moiré skilful to boost the local shoe making industry in the constituency;
Parliamentary candidates initiative was supported by officials from the National Board For Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) with some party executives present to witness the occasion at the Bantama party office.
Prior to the presentation, about 30 shoe making shop owners had undergone a two day skill training programme jointly facilitated by the NBSSI and the parliamentary candidate on how to grow their businesses and also manage their finances after which trainees were issued with certificates.
The event attracted virtually all the shoe making shop operators in the constituency Mr Asenso who applauded Boakye’s gesture.
During the presentation, the Bantama PC explained that the purpose of his gesture is to provide leather workers the skill needed to develop themselves into real entrepreneurs who will be capable of producing quality shoes for the market.
“ I’m hopeful that after improving their skill they will make themselves competitive and thus, be able to generate enough revenue to feed themselves and their family.”
